Fellowship of Christian Riders – Charter Document

WHO are we?  The Fellowship of Christian Riders (FCR) is an organization of men and women who share a love of motorcycling and a love of Christ.  While each chapter is affiliated with a host congregation, we are an organization that is open to anyone, regardless of their specific church affiliation or lack thereof, who shares our love of God and our love of using our motorcycles as instruments to demonstrate His love.

WHAT do we do?  FCR meets regularly for fellowship; to study God’s word, share, and support each other in our Christian journeys through life.  We also seek opportunities to incorporate our love of motorcycling with opportunities to show God’s love to others:  fund raising rides, toy runs, work rides, and any other opportunities brought to our attention that fit our organizational purpose.

WHEN do we meet?  We generally conduct one meeting each month; have one “Sunday after church lunch ride” and one longer Saturday ride each month.  The specific times/events are determined at the chapter level.  Additionally, we meet and ride in other events in support of other Christian-based motorcycle events such as those supported by the Christian Motorcycle Association and local events such as those sponsored by the Southern Crusaders For Christ, Wheels of Faith and others.  (The named organizations are used here as examples only; the use of their names is not intended to indicate a preference for one Christian-based riders’ group over another.)

WHERE do we meet and where do we go?  Normally, when facilities are needed they will be provided by the host church.  Our Saturday fellowship rides will generally be 3 to 4 hour rides; where we ride to is only limited by our imagination (and our gas tanks).  Members are encouraged to sign up to “host” a fellowship ride.  Hosting a ride means that the host identifies a destination, plans the route, conducts a reconnaissance ride, serves as the primary “Road Captain” and enlists any assistants that they may need to insure that it is a safe ride.  The host is also asked to submit their ride plan to the FCR chapter leadership team for final approval at least two weeks prior to the event.

WHY do we do this?  Because we love Jesus Christ and we love motorcycling.  We want to grow deeper in our faith through fun, fellowship and spiritual support of each other; and we want to reach out to the rest of the world from the unconventional pulpit of our motorcycles.

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS:

● We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

● We believe that God is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end; that He always has been and always will be; and that while His existence is completely beyond our human ability to comprehend, He knows and cares for each one of us individually.

● We believe that there is nothing that God cannot do.

● We believe in the Holy Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

● We believe that we owe our eternal lives to Jesus Christ and that to the best of our ability we must model our earthly lives according to the example shown to us by His life here on earth.

● We believe in the Second Coming of Christ; in the judgment of sins when He does; and in eternal life in heaven for His followers.

● We believe that it is His will that we care for those who are needy in spirit as well as those who have physical needs.

● We believe that as brothers and sisters in Christ, each one of us is an integral part of the body of Christ and that if we fail to use the gifts and talents that He has given us, we are not living up to our full potential, nor to His will.

● We believe that it is our responsibility to lift each other up in prayer and fellowship so that each of us may grow deeper in our walk of faith.
