The Fellowship of Christian Riders Patch

Each color and each symbol used in creating the logo of the Fellowship of Christian Riders was specifically selected for its meaning to us as Christian riders.  We wear it as a back patch to let others know who we are and that we want to represent Christ when riding our motorcycles.

The Shield:  The symbol of the shield on which the rest of the FCR colors are built, represents God the Father on whom our faith is built.   “He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice, and preserving the way of His godly ones.” (Proverbs 2:7-8) 

The Cross:  The cross is the universal symbol of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, whose horrible and unjust death on the cross made possible the forgiveness of our sins.  It is his resurrection after dying on that cross that gives each of us hope for eternal life.  “And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.” Hebrews 9:27-28)

The Flame:   The flame represents the Christian unity that we have through the presence of the Holy Ghost in our lives.  ”And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost.”  (Acts 2:1-4)

The Sword:  The sword represents our belief in the importance of studying and applying the Bible, the Word of God, in every aspect of our daily lives.  “And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.”  (Ephesians 6:17)

The Colors:  The colors used in our logo are purple, representing the royal nature of our King of Kings; gold and platinum representing that we value our Christian beliefs more than any earthly rewards with which we might be blessed; and red, representing the blood of Jesus Christ that was spilled so that we might have the opportunity of eternal life in heaven.

The Oath for Wearing the Fellowship of Christian Riders Patch:

I accept this patch and all that it represents.  I realize that in wearing it I am making a statement to others that I am committed to living a Christian life at all times.  This means that while wearing this patch, I will make every effort possible to control my bike and myself by riding and living in a Christian manner.  I will make every possible effort to never dishonor what this patch represents, not because of any human shame, but to avoid behavior that would be disappointing my savior, Jesus Christ.

I thank God for the blessing of being able to enjoy His beautiful world from the seat of my motorcycle.  I will wear this patch with pride and never be ashamed of being identified as a Christian.  Whenever possible I will remain loyal to what this patch represents and to my fellow FCR riders, but beyond even those, I will always strive to remain loyal to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
